Antonio Banderas, born Aug 10, 1960 in Malaga, Spain, wanted to be a professional soccer player. This dream was dashed when he broke his foot at age 14. He is married to actress Melanie Griffith and has starred in movies such as:

Did you notice that Banderas made the sign of the cross and started to sweat when the real singer and author of the song got up to collect his award? That is because they would not allow him to sing the song and so elected Banderas to do it. Now as a singer I do not care much for Banderas, but as an actor he is very good.

He had the choice like other singers did to say no when they offered him to sing it. Anyhow, I think it was good that he at least called the guy and ask the okay for it.

I do not think he is a great singer, but I do think he is a very good actor.
