"For pleasure is a state of soul, and to each man that which he is said to be a lover of is pleasant.... Now for most men their pleasures are in conflict with one another because these are not by nature pleasant, but the lovers of what is noble find pleasant the things that are by nature pleasant; and virtuous actions are such... Happiness then is the best, noblest, and most pleasant thing in the world, and these attributes are not severed as in the inscription at Delos: Most noble is that which is justest, and best is health; but pleasantest is it to win what we love." -- Aristotle. Nicomachean Ethics.(I.1099a6). c. 325 BC.
Missionaries Who Are Not Citizens of Venezuela Will Transfer Out of Country
Salt Lake City - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued the following updated statement on the status of missionaries in Venezuela:
"Due to the unrest in Venezuela, the Church is transferring 152 missionaries who are not Venezuelan citizens to other missions in South America. Venezuelan missionaries are in frequent communication with their mission presidents, and every effort is being made to keep them safe." Ref. Source 3
The latest on this case is with the Venezuelans saying that Joshua Holt, a return missionary, was conspiring to do something with weapons in a Venezuelan complex. He married a Venezuelan that he met over the internet. I hope that doesn't have something to do with it.
This is a picture of their arrest by the Venezuelan authorities. Venezuela is not a place for North American at this time, there is a volatile situation there.
American freed from Venezuelan prison after nearly two years in captivity arrives on U.S. Soil. Utah resident Josh Holt lands in Washington, D.C., to be reunited with his family. Holt had gone to Venezuela in June 2016 to marry a woman he met online while looking for Spanish-speaking Mormons who could help him improve his Spanish. He was arrested on weapons charges and accused of being a spy. Ref. USAToday.
I have only one question that I would like to ask Bro.Holt… was it worth it? These are the kind of dangers that surround dating online and visiting a country that is antagonistic to America.
