I think that you are missing the point, completely.
The "religious right" is NOT a monolithic entity. Those on the Left try to make it appear so, but all it is is a lot of people who subscribe to traditional religious values, and think that "Progressives" aren't improving the national culture in any way.
While Pat Robertson likes to THINK that he is a leader of the religious right, he is no more a real spokesman for this group of citizens than Jesse Jackson is a real spokesman for African Americans. Mr. Robertson has thoroughly embarrassed himself, and those conservatives who are religious, many many times.
Personally, he certainly is not a spokesman for MY point of view. I would have to say that Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham are more my spokesmen.

I"m not, this guy is just plain nuts and regarding the predictions of Bush to win, who bets against their horse and I would have information on policy if my representatives were invited to prayer meetings that preface the day in the Whitehouse. I place this character in with Falwell, Swaggert, F. Graham and Baker of the P.T.L Club a.k.a Pass the Loot Club. They are nothing but modern day indulgence salesmen.

Pat Robertson is psychotic and out of his mind.
However, I would like to address his lunacy some what here.
1. In the article, Pat makes the comment that he has a good track record, but sometimes he misses. If you are hearing from God, and your prophecies are from God, then how can you miss? That is, unless he is admitting that his prophecies are sometimes just his own wishes and not from God at all!
2. Pat Robertson predicted a tsunami and storms for our country last year in the new england area. Well, they had storms, big storms, which they have every year and indeed hit the rest of the country at some point. Thats no prediction, thats stating an obvious occurrence. But there was no tsunami that hit the US. So was he wrong, or was god wrong?
3. Pat Robertson is nothing but a hate monger. He blamed Katrina on the gays. Of course, the christians, children, and parents that died who were not gay can't be explained. Must be that they were closet gays. Then he told the community up in north carolina, when they voted out school board members because they allowed intelligent design in the class room, that they should not be surprised if something horrible happened to their town because of their sin. Wish something of what he predicts would happen to him.
Pat Robertson is a hate mongering dispensationalist that just can't help spreading the inevitable doom and destruction of gods wrath when ever he opens his mouth. If there is a god, I can't imagine I would want this wacko representing me on earth!
