
NEWBORN DUMPED ON SASKATOON DOORSTEP IN -21 WEATHER
Police investigators and dog teams searched a Saskatoon neighbourhood for clues on Saturday after a newborn girl was found abandoned on a doorstep in -21 weather.

In my opinion, if they find the person who left the child in the cold, there ought to be some sort of attempted murder or assault charge in addition to abandonment and reckless endangerment. When the weather is that cold outside, it doesn't take much sense to know that a baby should not be outside there. Besides, there are places you can leave a child where they can be taken somewhere safe, no questions asked. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior.
NO CHARGES PLANNED AGAINST MOTHER OF ABANDONED BABY
Police have decided not to charge an 18-year-old woman who abandoned her newborn baby on the doorstep of a Saskatoon home in sub-zero weather Feb. 3.
