Terrorism Board Game - Page 2

I was just going to ask the same question as above. Looks like one of those comedy type games not anything serious like chess or RISK.

I know I find this game distasteful. I hope that those who design games takes this game off the market for how distasteful it really is.

I just reread the rules and it sound much like a game of axis and allies with even more details combine with the idea of secret agents or terrorists put in to be used against you enemy as a mercenary. Until you are beat out basically no terrorists are player so much as you use them to try to stop your other player from producing oil. Sound complicated but who knows.

Game Board Terrorism

I guess I just have a problem when we are putting the rewards on being the bad guy.
I've been playing computer games since before most people had even heard the term (1980 at University of Illinois) and a little before that on a teletype in junior high so I've seen the range of games as they have evolved.
I'm pretty open minded when it comes to subject matter in games... A few months ago I was even playing a fairly adult oriented browser game that I enjoyed more because of the people than because of the game itself... But when they started adding options to make drugs and run drug labs, I dropped it right away... Many people would probably view things just the opposite but that really bothered me.
As much as I am for variety and letting the market decide, I have a problem with games like Grand Theft Auto... why do we want to market games that reward people for thinking like a criminal?
To me, a game that teaches us to think like a terrorist has the same problem.

To veer off subject a little in order to try to explain my way of thinking, I imagine many of you have seen the remake of "War of the Worlds" that came out several years ago. Did anyone else have a problem with the fact that there was no 'hero' in that version? I certainly didn't think that Tom Cruise was a hero... he was just trying to get to a point where he could dump the kids on his ex... The closest thing to a hero was when the military (?) guy helped to save Cruise when they dumped the grenade in the alien to get themselves free. I don't understand why we can't have a hero in a movie like this... Teach people how people should act when things get bad! Anyway, I'm the same way in the games... I like a game that rewards the player for doing good things!

Wow... I'm new here... I sure hope you don't flag people for long messages or I'm going to be in trouble right off the bat! hehehe
