Distracting Criminals

Should I fight back?

A Home Office minister has suggested people "distract" potential criminals while waiting for police to intervene. Asked by Jeremy Vine what people should do when confronted by anti-social behaviour, Tony McNulty MP agreed that jumping up and down could help. Watch the interview tonight. In the meantime you can take our online test to find out how you might react in situations shown in real life CCTV.

I think distracting a criminal may work depending on the mood of the offender, what type of weapon he carries, etc. Jumping up and down as suggested is idiotic in my opinion because if the guy has a gun and is getting irritated with you, he/she won't doubt in putting a bullet through your head.

I think common sense must apply. Personally, I would ring the police if it's possible but I will try to defend myself to death IF they are trying to carry me somewhere.
