I just got this movie and checked it out. It runs approximately 1 hour and 46 minutes long. It was hilarious. Adam Sandler plays, Dave Buznik and is just about the most calmest dude in the movie. Well, at least that is before he gets stuck in Dr. Buddy Rydell's (Jack Nicholson) anger management therapy. It starts off with laughs and continues with the laughs through most of the movie. I'm going to leave it at that, because I definitely don't want to ruin the end of the movie. But it is definitely worth renting and checking it out.
I give it: 3
Adam Sandler is one of my favorite comedy actors, and this movie provided a lot of his humor. However, Jack Nicholson ruined it for me. The best scene was when Jack made Adam sing "I'm so Pretty" while sitting on a busy bridge in traffic at a complete stop, with cars whizzing by and people yelling obscenities at them. Classic. 1
Nicholson played a bit of a different role in this movie. I thought the movie was hysterical! At my job there is a lot of joking and baiting between the guys, Jack baiting Sandlers character into anger just reminded me of some of the guys at work and made me laugh. It didn't have as much immature Sandler humor that I usually enjoy, so I give it 3
I just saw the public television version (maybe heavily edited based on what I have heard about the movie having a lot of swearing) and I must admit that I was laughing out loud a couple of times which is not common for me with the comedy's of today. I can't imagine someone going through so much to 'help' another. It is worth seeing - the edited version - recommended.
