'Scratching game' imperils teen
A 14-year-old girl who was playing a game that involved friends scratching letters into the skin got an infection that was potentially fatal. A scratch on the girl's hand caused necrotizing fasciitis, an infection in which toxins destroy skin and muscle. Since her left arm became infected in early March, the girl has gone through seven surgeries to remove tissue infected with the flesh-eating bacteria and has had oxygen treatments twice daily.

This is a very old and stupid game. It involves someone scratching with their fingernails the letters of the alphabet on your hand, if the skin gets red then you lose (that's how it used to be, I never played but I saw this game growing up) It seems like the rules changed and they made it worst. This is just simply idiotic.
Some dangers take a level of maturity to understand. Kids think they are immortal. When I think about the risks I took as a kid, I feel lucky to be alive. I'm sure this is probably true of most adults, if they take a minute to consider some of the risks they took as teenagers. It's hard for parents to warn against something like this because what parent would guess their child would play this game?
Wow this game is still around? This is almost as bad as quarters or knacksack(a form of chicken where two boys kick each other in the genitals until the other gives up) kids do some of the stupidest things and at the moment it seems fun and one of the best ideas in the world.
I agree with Valla that probally 90% of the populous has engaged in some stupid activity or another when they were a child I for one played foot ball at school(tackle with no pads) and almost broke my neck. When I look back I both understand where they are comeing from and fear for them because sooner or later they will end up dead or maimed if they dot smarten up.
