OBESITY PROGRAM IN SCHOOL

Over the last few years, schools around the country have been instituting programs to battle a serious problem with children these days: their weight. The measurement being used to figure out which children are overweight is called the body mass index, or BMI. At schools across the country, the BMI score is now put on report cards and sent home to the parents. Many schools are also changing to a more nutritious menu at the cafeteria. More broccoli, less pizza. But "Nightline" correspondent John Donvan recently visited a school in Wyoming that was sending letters home to the parents of children with high BMI scores to suggest they join an exercise class. Some of the parents were outraged and decided to fight back.
