I have only test driven a Lexus once. They are so far out of my price range its not funny. But I must say, for style, class, and ride, they are very very nice. I absolutely love they handle and how well they handle acceleration. I went and test drove three models on a saturday, I went away wishing I hadn't because I have wanted one since. If you have the chance to take one for a spin, do it. You will immediately understand why Lexus is the standard for luxury cars!
The first time sat as a passenger in a Lexus was in Wales during 1991 and at that time they had just come out with automatic bumpers that adjust when hit, talking doors and computer console, automatic temperature control, etc. Not only this, but I remember it being like a plane ride - you did not feel any bumps in the road and with the windows up it was so sound proof. Excellent car and yes, very expensive. At that time it cost £50,000.00.
I've never test driven a Lexus, and probably for good reason, because, like Konq, I would want to get one. My aunt, who is retired, decided to get a nice car, and did test drive the Lexus, and was impressed. She however did not purchase it because of the luxury tax she would have to pay.
I've never test driven the Lexus, but I travel as passenger regularly in my bosses Lexus with the children.
It's a beautiful car, and extremely luxurious, I especially like the heated leather interior seats, I don't think that you'd ever get back ache on them.
As for value for money, they are expensive, but my boss reckons that it was good value for money, and she never has a problem with it breaking down. She described it as an absolute pleasure to drive, and said she'd never change from having one!
I love riding in a Lexus, its one of the first cars to have lots of features and adjustments outside the realm of BMW, Mercedes, etc.
