It has always seemed strange to me that the U.S. wanting to create a defensive missile system is considered a hostile act.

I could understand disagreements if the U.S. wanted to place more missiles in Europe, but if the host countries do not mind the United Stated placing missile shields in their country, Russia does not have a diplomatic leg to stand on.

Setting up a system to defend oneself if a hostile action is taken seems to me to be a very intelligent use of resources for any country.

Many believe Nuclear War is inevitable, so isn't it smart, on both sides, to create a system to neutralize the threat before it can occur?

Sounds like the "new" russia want to get thier hands on some the latest techology in the radar fields. Putting the radar in areas controlled by Russia they are able to watch and conviently shut it off if one of its "allies" wants to do a sneak attack.

While having the US, Russia, and the EU be a mulitnational spearhead to make defense of the EU a better reality I doubt that it will really happen.

I hope NATO tells Russia to but out. We don't need the former USSR trying to get their hands on countries that they once ruled with an iron fist.

I wouldn't be surprised if A new USSR emerges from this increased sense of Nationalism that is found in today's Russia.

It would be good to keep this from happening at all costs.
