Apple has shown a lot to the general public over the last year in efforts to revive the market for Mac based computer. Have you seen it do them good? Bloomberg reports the money behind the madness and the major comeback attempts left to come.

I did not realize that IPODs and their media was really at such the high demand that they are currently at. Mac OS X on an intel processor is not a new idea to the computer world however their marketing attempts and strategies may be fast approaching reality long before previous estimates. I have never been a real Mac fan however, I am excited to see what Jobs has in our near future.
I am a huge Mac fan these days. I love OSX.
I am not concerned about OSX on Intel boxes, since it is using a special processor, with no real relationship to the x86 family, including Pentium. So, even the slight advantage that would come from being able to run WINE isn't there. I will certainly wait for at least a year before considering getting an Intel based Mac.
I don't know that Apple needs to work on turning itself around. It is a solid company with incredible products. I can't believe how much more quality is built into my iBook over any other laptop that I have ever used. Apple computers cost more than WinDOZE computers, but they are worth the difference in price.
TINY APPLE HAS OVERSIZED INFLUENCE
What is it about Apple that makes customers so passionate? Perhaps they sense Apple's similar devotion to them. "We're all consumers [at Apple] and we know what consumers like," CEO Steve Jobs explained in an interview after his keynote. In other words, Jobs explained, Apple's engineers and programmers love technology and build products that they themselves want to use.

I had an Apple when I was doing desktop publishing because there is no better machine for it. I now have a perfectly rotten Dell laptop and their customer service makes me want to cry sometimes. If I had to replace my system today and could afford whatever I wanted, I am 90% sure I'd get another Apple.
/offtopic a bit but, I rarely see someone in the metro or waiting for a bus that doesn't have an IPod in their ear. Recently while waiting for a plane, I saw people my parents' age with IPods while I had my radio walkman to listen to a book on tape! Cassette tape, even!
Reasons I won't buy a MAC
1. A PC costs nearly half or less of what a MAC of the same speed and storage costs.
2. PC's are completely in hardware independent upgradable mode if you chose it to be so. MAC's are all proprietary and much more difficult to upgrade.
3. A MAC has a different user interface that I would have to learn, and for the money, its not worth it to me.
4. MAC will not play many of the games a PC does as well as it cannot use much of the software that PC's can. Its a market share issue, more PC's in the market, more software engineers program for it.
Reasons I might buy a MAC and why Apple is going to be around for a while:
1. OSX uses BSD as its background OS. Unix is incredibly stable and BSD is one of my favorites of the flavor.
2. Intel processors look to increase its ability to use more software on the market. Its a start to competing at least.
3. IPODS rock, period!
4. If you like editing video and or using high def graphics editing and creating software, Apples perform much better than PC's, especially with apps like CAD.
All in all, I build my PC's to my liking. You cannot do that with an Apple. That is why Apple will make a strong comeback, but not in the desktop area. IPODS will continue to be big, but die hard PC people will not ever go towards a standard build computer like the MAC.
APPLE & MICROSOFT: ODD-COUPLE PARTNERS
When Steve Jobs announced on Tuesday that all Apple computers will contain Intel chips by the end of the year, he simultaneously announced a five-year partnership with Microsoft.

Intel releases details on their hardware based utilities for Mac OS X. They claim to perform their best attempts to keep all OS features equal but admit to some shortfalls with certain versions of OS X. Details here.
Music industry to surrender to Apple
After what I would only describe as "much debate" Apple wins the argument to keep all music at the flat .99 cent US rate. I can only see this as wise because charging different for different songs would be an administration nightmare.
*Go Jobs*
