Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis has called an emergency Cabinet meeting following reports of the rising death toll. Greeks have been stunned by the extent of the devastation wrought by fires, that mostly have been blamed on arsonists. |

This is a terrible tragedy! I can't imagine so much fire, and so many people who just burned to death because the flames move so quickly.

Greece Disaster
I saw some clips on this and it is really out of control despite both efforts on the ground and water bombs via planes from the air. Someone has a lot to answer for, and someone in the government has a lot to account for with regards to not 'taking care of it' faster.

This whole situation is absolutely out of control. It is not only endangering the lives of the people who live in Greece but also all the ancient monuments and historical places that make Greece unique! I hope when they catch the arsonist/s who committed this terrible act that they can be sent to prison for life. This is absolutely devastating.

Such a sad situation for all involved. I hope they catch the arsonist, if this was actually intentionally set, although if they do he/she may not live long for the people who wish retribution.
