If this is really what it was like in Japan then life there really sucked bad for everyone but the emperor. Come on, one mistake and you have to take your life just so you can have some 'honor'?

The samurai action in this movie was cool. However, the ending was lame. What purpose was there to take down an evil Lord only to give up and commit suicide rather than take down the evil Emperor as well? It all seemed [kind of] pointless to me.
