UPDATE 11

Let's try and break the grille down:

The effort will cost you 1 point of VIGOUR. If you wish  to  do  it,  deduct  this  from  your  current VIGOUR score and turn to 76. If you have now changed your mind and wish to continue along the passage, turn to 213.

Deduct 1 point of VIGOUR and open the grille, or move on?

As I said, it is there to prevent us from getting in, therefore the minus vigor is understandable, continue onward.

The Dice Master says...

I hate the small questions, it makes me uneasy, as though death is knocking. Take off the grille.

Open the grill and let's see if we make it out alive or we have to start all over again.

UPDATE 12

You place your sword on the floor beside you and seize the bars of the grille with both hands. Minki watches intrigued as you brace yourself to push at the grille with all your strength, pitting your flesh and bone against the corroded bronze and crumbling mortar. Suddenly the grille gives way, falling in on the dusty floor with a metallic clang.  The noise  echoes  eerily  along  the  hushed corridors. Passing along a short entrance tunnel,  you find yourself in a narrow pillared chamber.  There is another tunnel leading from the north wall directly opposite you. In the hot smoky light of two braziers (have they burned here since ancient times? were the spells of the Anku priesthood so powerful?) you see a magnificent cloak of richly coloured feathers hanging at the far end of the room. Will you:

Take a closer look at the cloak?                                                  Turn to 39
Return to the passage and go on?                                                Turn to 213
Cross over to the tunnel in the north wall?                                    Turn to 97

A fancy cloak of feathers! What's our next move?
