Now leafing through a tome on spirit summoning sounds like real fun for a day in a horror house, but seeing that I'm already out voted we may as well go for witchcraft.

(203) The book seems pretty standard considering the subject; the kind of thing you would find in a public library. A witch, or Strega, is a being that draws her power from her association with evil spirits or the devil. She allegedly has powers such as causing or curing illness, raising storms, producing sterility in women, and causing crops to fail; in addition she may have the power to cause harm or even bring death by a single glance or by sticking pins into a wax or cloth image of the victim. You close the book. Will you now examine the book of spirit summoning (306) local history (121) or will you leave this room (186)? |
Since Gothicnature was interested in the summonings book we shall start there then the history book...I just did not pound ahead as some times the order one does things is important in this book.

(306) You flip through the pages of the book, trying to find some useful information in a minimum amount of time. You come across a page containing a diagram of what looks like a wizard throwing stones into a fire. The caption below reads as follows: For the release and recall of Hazrukiel, recite the words of power: NET NOITCES OT NRUT EGASSEM SIHT DNATSREDNU UOY FI If you want to risk summoning the spirit, go to 127. Otherwise, you may examine the book of local history (121) or the book of witchcraft (203). If you are finished here, you may exit this room and continue down the hall (186). (121) You open the book to discover that it has been hollowed out. A small bottle containing a clear liquid has been taped to the inside. If you are in need of an antidote, go to 156. If not, you decide against drinking an unknown liquid but you may take the bottle with you if you wish. Will you now examine the book on witchcraft (203) spirit summoning (306) or will you leave the room and continue down the hall (186)? |
