The North American Indians, a group of people that lived one with nature, became almost extinct due to many factors, but which do you think was the MAIN reason? Well, we watch a lot of Cowboy and Indian movies and see a lot of the Indians loose their lives, but what really caused it?

Indians vs. Cowboys vs. Mexicans
I had a couple of thoughts while reading this. One - some tribes have had their "revenge" so to speak by having valuable resources on their land such as oil or fisheries that has brought them a great deal of wealth.
Ironically, others are trying to be classified as Indians (with support from organized crime) because gambling is legal on reservations.
However, I had a Navajo roommate and her family and reservation were poor. Her English was pretty good but I used to think most people wouldn't stop to think her grammatical errors were a result of her speaking in her non-native language and how amazing I thought it was that she was fluent in two languages. And I think it was hard to live between two worlds.
Some Americans think about...but right now most people I know are too worried about what's going to happen to them.

I wonder if they are still 'punished'? What is so wrong about 'behaving' like an American Indian? Sometimes I wish I could live one with nature and give up the concrete jungle.
