No matter his style one thing you have to give President Trump: he delivers for his voters and there aren't many politicians that can say that.

So he "Delivers" for his voters but dies he deliver for America? One tragic thing about Trump's style is that he forgets he is the president of the United States and not the president of his voters alone.

Does he? I find that claim highly questionable.

He cut taxes!
For the rich, and only the rich. The IRS expect to collect 300 billion more in taxes from middle and lower class families, and 500 less from upper.

He's lowering the deficit!
-Its higher than ever, he's even beaten Obama out in that regard, and that was one of the few complaints about his presidency that couldn't be argued about. (I had plenty of other complaints, but that one was a glaring flaw)

He's improving relations with other countries, gaining respect around the world!
The only positive relationships he has cultivated are with Russia, and North Korea. The rest of the world alternates between dismay and laughter.

No go on the wall, his trade policies have all been disasters, the tariffs ended up costing us far more business than they gained, then there is the ongoing kidnapping fiasco with his immigration measures, he didn't eliminate the carried interest loophole as promised (One of the few things he promised that I was actually hoping he'd do), he hasn't eliminated the affordable care act (He's only managed to make it even more of a lame duck than it already was), he definitely hasn't balanced the budget, and the jobs he keeps crowing about were almost entirely from decisions companies made before he took office.

He got Kavanaugh in, that's something. But the man was a shoe-in, even him lying under oath wasn't enough to break that deal.

The man is a jester. He is a racist and has zero respect for women. Who let him in the white house anyway?
Right, I forgot. The voters DID.

He is delivering for his voters. He promised to stand up for conservative beliefs. Whether you agree with his politics or not he is a fighter. He is more than willing to get down into the mud and fight. Republicans have traditionally been trying to follow the high road and not get into personal attacks. He fights dirty like a lot of Democrats do. Both sides are dirty. I try not to pay much attention to national politics. We get so worked up over politics but there isn't much of a difference in day to day life for me and most others as well between now and under an Obama presidency.

Except that he's not.

Primary Conservative values: Personal responsibility (Avoids it like the plague), limited government (His administration is more bloated and intrusive than Obama's), free markets (Tariffs and the death of net neutrality directly violate that principle), constitutionalism (The man has violated or tried to violate the liberties guaranteed by the first, fourth, fifth, and eight amendments, and actively and deliberately undermines the checks and balances imposed by said constitution), traditional American values (The man's a walking insult to every American value I can think of) and national defense. (Okay, fair enough, he hasn't overtly screwed this one up.)

The only manner in which he can be said to be truly fighting for conservatives lies in terms of screwing with liberals. That is not how a democratic country is run, the other side of a debate is to be listened to and reasoned with, not treated as the enemy. That latter is the hallmark of various totalitarian governments. Divide the people so that your favored portion is easier to control.

And hey, I am definitely not going to say that the Democratic party is innocent of such abuses. Heck, I thought for a time that Clinton had hired Trump (Who was a long time friend of the family) to make her look good by comparison (I think she'd have lost by a landslide against anyone else the Republicans had fielded that year) But Trump has taken things to a very dangerous level.

I am an independent, and I agree with the Democrats on many things. But except for two years ago, I have voted for Republican presidential candidates every time (And 2 years ago I voted libertarian.) To be frank, I think the only notable Republican figure Trump has anything in common with would be Richard Nixon. And I think Nixon was a saint by comparison.

That's the frightening part Daishain. So much coming from both sides is to call the other side enemies. Violence has been called for from both sides. In the past you could agree to disagree. Now people try to destroy people over differences. A lot of the language coming out is very troubling. People are being called Nazis or communists. Dehumanizing groups of people is the way that civil wars and ethic cleansings such as the Holocaust begin. Frightening times.
