The issue with that thought, is that there is still a chance Trump could win. Especially have just loyal support from Republications. Since from I can tell, Trump with be the Republican's only candidate really while Democrats will have like five candidates. I never understood how it made any sense for the Democrat party to have so many candidates since it meant votes would be more divided. GivingTrump better odds of winning.

The Senate acquits President Trump of abuse of power, the first article of impeachment. Senators will now vote on obstruction of Congress.. The vote clears Trump of the allegation he abused his power by withholding roughly $400 million in aid from Ukraine until it announced an investigation into political rival Joe Biden. Senators will now vote on the second article of impeachment - obstruction of Congress - related to the president’s decision to block the testimony of staffers and documents in the impeachment inquiry. Senators are voting on whether to acquit Trump or convict him and remove him from office. Ref. USAToday.

You have to give Trump credit for knowing how to play the system. He may be a businessman and TV show host but he is very much the politican.

Just because he got off so to speak doesn't make him innocent. All it means is because of the 2/3 rule he was not removed as president. I am still glad it happened because it will be in voters minds come the next election.
