Englishman Fakes Death To Avoid Financial Debts

People will do just about anything just to get out of debt; including faking their own death!

In the year 2002, Anne Darwin reported her spouse, John Darwin as missing; her greatest fear was he might be dead from an accident, while canoeing in the North Sea, near their home in Hartlepool, northeast of England. Well you could imagine Mrs Darwin's surprise when her spouse arrived at their house alive, dirty and very dishevelled. Apparently, he convinced his wife to pretend that he was dead, after all, she did receive his life insurance and other work benefits. So he hid in their home for five years, without anyone suspecting his devious plan. Eventually, John Darwin longed to be reunited with his sons, so he visited the police station and declared himself as suffering from amnesia. Anne Darwin, could not contain his secret any longer and therefore told all the newspapers about her husband's deceitful plan. She desperately hopes that her children will forgive her for living a lie! On Saturday 8 December 2007, the police has charged prison officer, John Darwin, for obtaining money via deception and making a false declaration to get a passport.
