How far from the edge of the paper should I write?

Margin Good Is What
A good margin is at least an inch from each side of the page, for the simple reason that the person holding it to read needs a place for his or her thumb. Some hold at the bottom, some at the side, some on top. One inch all around is a good rule of, well, thumb.
