Airbus A340

Anyone into planes like I am? Well I'm not an expert or anything but I love to see where companies they their designs for commercial flights. They're retiring the four engine Airbus A340 now... Do you think it was like time?

A Airbus

I am not avid though I do like them. I am not convinced the old dog is invalid so much as they what to push the newer styles. I think the plane was solid reliable and well thought out. Consider each model upgrade they did it save tones in retraining cost as the cockpit stayed basically the same. Smaller motors are always cheaper to run and maintain in these birds. They were also able to fly over the different extreme regions non stop due to the redundancy built in. So not I am not convinced they should have been mothballed but motor tech improved would have been a better option and lighter framing materials. A good solid design really never dies or becomes invalid, politics just dictate time to share the monies else where.
