THOMAS AND FRIENDS, CURIOUS GEORGE TOYS RECALLED FOR UNSAFE LEAD CONTENT

About 66,000 spinning tops and 4,700 tin pails featuring Thomas and Friends and Curious George characters are being recalled from the marketplace because they contain high levels of lead, the U.S. Consumer Safety Product Commission said Wednesday.

Looks like we need to start looking at the 'way back when' days when you would go into your garage and build toys for your children out of wood. It is natural and safe. What can you buy now that is safe? How do you know what went into all those man made materials?

It's really frightening that so many toys are turning out to be so dangerous. You buy a toy in good faith for your children, never dreaming that any harm could come their way!
More stringent laws regarding toys should be brought into force to stop any further accidents happening!

In light of this alarming discovery, parents should consider knitting toys for their kids or even buying a puppy, turtle, rabbit or a pet hamster. I doubt all these latest discoveries will affect sales in the toy stores this Christmas. On a positive note, parents or adults may start reading the box (which contains the toy) or instructions, more carefully, before purchasing the toy.
