I was not surprised by this at all. Our pediatrician told us that childrens bones are just fragile as it is and their fracture risk lies partly in how well set their bones are. This setting is sometimes later in some and earlier in other. Thus fractures as a child or lack of fractures do not translate into less fracture risk of a fully formed and set adult bone. Now, I didn't agree with this at first because I drank tons of milk as a kid, and I have never had a broken bone in my life, and I played football, basketball, and soccer all my life, even through high school. I have had nasty bruises, sprains and now have tendinitis in my right ankle, I even have flattened cartilage on my nose, but no broken bones.
