A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was kidnapped in Couva on Tuesday night when three men stormed their home and attacked and robbed her father.
Simeon "Jimmy" Bedasie, 55, a driving school instructor/owner of Southern Main Road, McBean Village, said he and his teenage daughter Shannon Bedasie were staying in an apartment on the first floor of their house that was undergoing repairs.

I am very concerned about this girl, specially because the father hasn't received any calls from the kidnappers. That's not a very good sign.

Same time, we heard the dogs barking. I was getting up from the bed when three bandits rushed in with bandannas covering their faces and with cutlasses". Bedasie said he was pushed back onto the bed and his daughter was taken to the kitchen. "They asked me for the money I withdraw (from the bank) to fix the house. I told them I don't have any. They ask for jewelry and bank card. I said I don't have none". |

Little Shannon was released at a playground in Belmont. I am very glad for her and her family although I don't want to imagine the things she may have experienced once in captivity. I hope she gets the help she needs.
