Recruiters do cut the drain of manpower on the HR department of any business. They can be a bit expensive, but if you are doing enough hiring, they definitely pay for themselves. However, there are some that are a bit less ethical than others and companies need to watch for them. They have a tendency to focus on just a couple of companies and they get new recruits into positions with those companies and then after a year they try to get those same recruits to leave for another company. Some recruiters know that a particular company is not a great place to work but since that company has such high turnover rates and they get money for each new employee they find...they trick recruits into taking the job and then the next year they immediately come back to these recruits with offers from other companies because they know it isnt that good in the current company (and they knew it when they recruited them).
