Superficial Romance Is

I think romance is a way of bringing out your personality. That is to say that having no romance in your life shows your personality as much as one who shows it. If its not your true nature, but you are romantic anyway, it shows the lengths you are willing to go to make someone happy and show them you love them. While its not your real personality, it shows your true heart by virtue of why you are doing it in my opinion.

I don't think that by being romantic, you are covering up your true personality, in fact the opposite I would say were true.

If you didn't care about the person you were trying to be romantic with, then you wouldn't care less whether they felt happy by being romanced.
There is happiness to be gotten by the romance giver by just seeing how happy the receiver is.

I certainly wouldn't like to be romanced by someone who was only being romantic for an ulterior motive of their own.

I think Romance as Diane and Kon have said brings out your personality. It is a way to show how much you love that special one in your life.
