Adopted Boy Sent Back To Russia

I would be willing to believe the story of the adoptive mother but to tell you the truth, the way she went about the whole issue is so strange, I have my doubts her story is true at all.

international QUOTE
CNN)  -- A 7-year-old Russian boy adopted by an American family last year was put on a return flight to Moscow this week because of violent and psychotic behavior, according to a Tennessee grandmother.

The child showed up unannounced at Russia's child protection ministry Thursday, triggering an international investigation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a Russian TV channel on Friday that his country has banned future adoptions by Americans until the United States signs a new agreement to regulate them.

U.S. Diplomats have avoided such an agreement to set responsibilities for the adopting parents, Lavrov said, "but this latest incident has exhausted our patience."

"We are now investigating the circumstances of the boy's return to see if any crimes were committed," said you.S. Ambassador to Russia John Beyrle. "We are also in close contact with the Russian government on all aspects of the case, and we know that he is being well cared for."

Nancy Hansen, the Tennessee woman who put Justin Hansen on the plane in Washington, insisted she did not abandon the child, but was following instructions from a lawyer she found online.

The thing that does not convinced me is that first, she contacted a lawyer online. Then she booked a flight for the child to travel alone (with the help of a stewardess) and she hired a driver to pick the child from the airport in Moscow (who she also found online).

I agree, it sounds a bit odd. Who would put any child on a plane by himself? No wonder there is a international outcry on this one. I find it odd, she sought information on the internet and saw this as gospel. Perhaps the child is actually better off without someone like this?

I think the mother who placed him on the plane should be charged with child abandonment. The child has been tested in Russia and he has no metal of physical problems. I believe he said he was beat a lot but did not quite here all that was said.

I don't believe Kntoran. Even though I condemn the actions of this adopted mother, I personally believe this child has the problems the woman described and I think Russia is just trying to blame the mother in all this because they do not want to tell the world how BAD and TERRIBLE are the conditions of orphanages in Russia.

If they truly cared, they wouldn't have orphans hungry and living in buildings that are falling apart without blankets and no heating! They wouldn't have some sort of law that does not allow orphans to access higher education. MOST orphan kids when they reach 18 (they are usually kicked out before that) end up either in drugs or prostitution. That's how much the system in Russia truly cares.

Interesting enough, this is NOT the first case I heard of Russian orphans have several mental disorders. It is sad for the child and sad for the adoptive family but I do believe the woman should be charge with abandonment.

Russia To Sent Boy Adopted

I do not know what the conditions are over there but I will take your word for it for I have seen many oprhanages where the kids will not be productive members of society. I think if the boy did not have issues before being abandoned like this and sent back to Russia is not going to help at all. You could be very right and this child may have serious issues. I guess it will be interesting to find out what happens next.
