Recipe Ingredients Recipe detials:

2 c All-purpose flour

3/4 ts Baking powder

3/4 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Salt

1/3 c Cocoa

1 ts Cinnamon

1/2 ts Nutmeg

1/4 ts Ground cloves

1 c Crisco shortening

1 c Granulated sugar

1 Egg

3/4 c Milk

Glaze and decoration: 2 c Icing sugar; sifted

1/2 ts Vanilla

1/4 ts Almond extract

2 tb Milk; (2 to 4)

Food colouring = red and green Optional candy decorations 1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C).

2. Sift first 8 dry ingredients together.

3. Cream shortening, sugar and egg together on medium speed

of electric mixer until light and creamy. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing just until batter is smooth. 4. Drop dough by rounded spoonful onto greased baking sheet.

5. Bake at 350F (180C) for 9-12 minutes, or until set.

Remove to rack, cool completely. Glaze and decoration: 6. Combine icing sugar, vanilla, almond extract and enough

milk to make a medium glaze consistency. Colour, if desired. Spread over a few cookies at a time, sprinkle with candy decorations. Let glaze set before storing. Makes: About 5 dozen cookies. Freezing: Excellent
