The only thing I fear is our government getting involved. If the American people are left alone we can take care of most any situation ourselves. But let the US government get involved and you always have a mess. I would not want to live in a big city if "FOOD SHORTAGE" makes the headlines. Many people in big cities think food comes from the grocery store and if shelves go empty from panic buying the mayhem will become very nasty. An empty stomach is a forceful motivator.

Anyone who does the family grocery shopping knows that food prices are soaring at a rate that hasn't been seen in decades. For the first three months of 2008, grocery store food prices rose at a 5.9 percent seasonally adjusted rate, after a 4.9 percent increase in all of 2007, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
