Comments: [In my opinion] No, I suspect that they are being advised and considering how to manipulate the evidence and give it without suspicion falling on them.

Who are you labeling as "Them" And "They"? The police have to take their time with cases because they do not want to hold the wrong person, they cannot go on just third party information but they need sound evidence that stands up in court so there is a conviction.

Dana Seetahal Murder Case Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

Comments: It is obvious who them and they are in this case. It is those who are involved but who are being deliberately protected by local people of status on this island. This is a small island with a small population. Criminals here are well established and are easily identified by both the police and many citizens. For reasons unknown despite the police making statements saying they know the suspects, no one has been arrested. Is this a ploy to give the culprit/culprits to destroy incriminating evidence or leave the country?. I like many bamboozled citizens cannot put names to those involved. I however, suspect because the impression given, that someone of status or wealth is involved and those in authority together with certain senior police officers are trying to sweep the matter under the carpet. We could still be waiting for a result 12 months from now bearing in mind the police snail pace approach in handling this matter. Perhaps their hands are tied by someone one with money or in the corridors of power.

The Prime Minister recently stood on a political platform and told the TTPS to basically get their act together and solve the Dana Seetahal Murder Case. When the Acting Police Commissioner was asked about his thoughts on the PM's statements he had no comments on the matter.

Comments: It is now obvious that the government especially the Prime Minister are at loggerheads with the police over the investigation of the murder of Dana Seetahal. It makes one wonder whether the discontentment with the police incompetence is not something that has been going on for sometime. There were in the past several criminal matters involving police investigations that have never got off the ground or have disappeared off their books. Two for example come immediately to mind .The first is the investigation into the affairs of Jack Warner which was suppose to have started months ago but nothing happened. It has now been rejuvenated by the insistence of the President. Then there was the investigation into the BIG COCAINE bust which has now disappeared into thin air. The question is, who is running the country?. Is it the police or our politicians. Whatever the answer is, there certainly seems to be a suspicion of mistrust and lack of proper duty, allegiance and possibility incompetence of senior police officers and the police system as a whole. It would appear that TTPS is in urgent need of reform, democratic and political discipline and senior police officers needs to be reminded that they are paid, to enforce proper law and order to protect our citizens

Dana Seetahal Murder Case

After more than a year the police wonder why people don't have confidence in them. Do you think in America a top official like this could be gunned down execution style and the FBI / police can't produce some names in more than a year? No way, in less than a week they have all the details for the press.

Comments: It is now time to stop bleating over the murder of Dana Seetahal and accept the fact that the politicians, people of status ,the police and the judiciary are working in tandem in agreeing among themselves which case should be swept under the carpet. Well that is the impression given on this island. There can be no other reasons why cases such as the Steve and Ish, the Email scandal, the initial attempt of Jack Warner investigation, the big Cocaine bust and a string of other serious crimes committed by the Elite are never clearly resolve and disappear off the records. The clue to what is going on in this country lie in our prison population .You won't find any one of status behind bars here despite the fact that these are the very people involved in stealing massive amounts of public money by means of corruption. A very good example of how it works here, is the latest attempt by the Prime Minister to premature exonerate herself and other government officials from the E-Mail scandal without any full final report on the investigation.
