CNN projects businessman David Perdue and Congressman Jack Kingston will be the top two finishers in the crowded Georgia Republican Senate primary and will meet in a July 22 runoff. No candidate topped the 50% threshold needed to avoid a runoff.
The winner of the runoff will face Democrat Michelle Nunn in November in a race to succeed retiring GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
Only recently Georgia went through the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election which involves Brian Kemp, Stacey Abrams and Ted Metz. According to the results Brain Kemp, a republican won the polls 2.2% more than Stacey, which is 1,978,408 votes. Funny enough, Ted only got 0.9% of the votes, making it 37,235.

"We're doing this because it's what makes the most sense with the national significance of this race and the closeness of this race," Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said after being asked whether the hand recount was being done because of the request from the Trump campaign.
