Rape By A Woman

Do you believe that a man can be raped by a woman?

I was listening to a radio talk show a little while ago where this was the topic. Not surprisingly, many me called in and made jokes about it..saying that there aren't many women who can "hold down" A man to rape him..and secondly..that there aren't many men who would not want to have sex with a woman..so that it would not be considered rape.

Both of these statements are of course ridiculous..but what are your thoughts on it?

I seriously doubt that one woman could do that unless she were physically above average and the man were seriously weak, but then again... there are drugs out there that can basically knock you out (eg: date rape drug) which have been portrayed as a drug that can be used by men on women, but it can go both ways.

The other element is the physical makeup of a man and a woman which in my mind would really make that difficult unless the man were somehow 'enticed' beyond control if you know what I mean.

Do you know any real stories of this Cookie?

But isn't it true that pleasure isn't the only factor which causes a man's body to work this way?..as far as I know, extreme fear or shock etc. Can cause a man's body to react in this way, which can be misinterpreted as acceptance of what a woman is doing.

Furthermore, even if a man is "Enticed" As you put it...but he still refuses to partake in the act..but is physically forced to...isn't that rape?

I do think it can happen. A small built man versus a heavy-set woman. Don't you think it is possible?

And no..I don't know of any specific cases of this. I just remembered the call-in program and it got me thinking.

Ummm... I would not know.

I have never heard of that before, do you have any medical reference to that?

Yes, of course, no means 'no' at all times.

Well I don't know, I guess the guy would really have to be a wimp.

Overall I really cannot see a woman wanting to do that since the drive is not in them as it is in men unless they are somehow medically over developed in their pituitary gland or suffering with some psychological problem, but I guess that could be said of men too. *shrugs*

Well, we have to understand that rape or sexual assault not neccesarily have to involve 'penetration'. Example: Lorena Bobbit's case or when somebody have sexual intercourse with a severe mental retarded man who there is no way could give the okay for the act itself. The last case particularly is rape in my opinion. Sometime ago a male teacher in the US was charged with raped after he was found in a classroom having sex with a retarded child. So if this applies to men, I don't see why it is not possible that women do it too.

That is a good point, but I am not sure how your examples relate since those cases it was the woman that was a victim... I believe Cookie's thought in this is if it is physically possible for a woman to do it.

I believe you are correct, it isn't just a result of pleasure. If it were, then why do men generally have erections first thing in the morning before they urinate for the first time?

In addition, I know that body builders who take high doses of vitamin E can find they have erections at times that are totally not due to some pleasure they are experiencing. I believe this is true of young men in puberty as well.

I think rape of a man is rare, but it is possible. You could hold a man at gun point, tie him up and then perform certain manual stimulations that would probably cause an erection against his will. I think this would still be rape.

Unfortunately, much of soceity views it just like the guys who were calling in to the radio station joking. I am sure anyone who is subjected to this isn't going to run for help because they know they will be laughed at and have their "Manhood" questioned.

well yes..i mean it in every way...not just physically in terms of whether a woman is STRONG enough to do it...but also..if the act itself is posible.

This is what a police officer pointed out on the program. The definition of rape that they are given, is based on penetration...so he called in to argue that if a man came into the police station one day and spoke about being raped, the definition of the crime would not comply with his claim.
