There was a time that Ethiopia was not landlocked, but it lost its complete access to the seas after Eritrea won its independence. There are no ports in Ethiopia of any significance. Ethiopia built the Ethiopia to Djibouti railroad to establish a link to the sea and uses the port of Doraleh in Djibouti as its access.
