At the beginning of 2009, Mr. Joseph stated that 2009 will see a significant decrease in the murder rate but the numbers are escalating around 35 more murders than last year. He is now asking for the help of the citizens. If this man does not know what to do and is telling the citizens to be careful, then how are we supposed to feel?

PRESSURE!

Joseph says he's taking heat now for better future against crime
Under pressure. This is how National Security Minister Martin Joseph is describing his tenure in office as he faces an ever-increasing homicide rate and severe criticism from the Opposition, groups in civil society and many victims of crime about the way he is performing his job. Ref. Source 2

Nice one, Martin!

So let me get this straight- Martin Joseph won't be getting any praise or commendation from his many critics, specifically John Public, because he has been unable to find a solution to our crime situation while in office, so his new strategy is to let us all know that any future success by any future National Security Minister, be it a PNM, COP or UNC Minister, should be attributed to him!
