Wish stories like this were rare but they were the norm for my parents. Why does a farmer have twelve kids? So he can plow 12 fields.
Sad but used to they way for many or all. Miners used to enter the school and grab the bigger kids and shove then in the coal min right up at the head. Strong enough to dig but small enough to fit the hole.
Canada has come a long ways from this but we still do it in remote areas lets hope all parents can wake up and realize children are to be cherished but we do not have to pamper them either.
