One night, a quiet invasion takes place. Across the world, alien beings, known as Parasytes, fall to earth and begin possessing humans one by one with the rest of humanity none the wiser. I am surprise this get an anime at that year, considering how old the manga are, a warning its pretty gory and dark though.
The story are interesting about the parasite, that was created to consume the similar species host, basically turn them into cannibal, end up trying to understand human as their main host and even trying to live as normal human to overcome their instinct to predate human and eat normal human food while the parasite that fail to take over their host try to live in a mutual symbiosis to survive by enhancing the host body that they affected.
