Review: Chrome OS gives peek at computing future

What if nearly everything you usually keep on your computer - photos, documents, music and software - was stored online? Your machine would be speedier and perhaps less vital because you could simply use another machine to recoup your digital life should you lose your laptop. Ref. Source 1

I am not too big a fan of Chrome. My friend Joe uses it, and he had recommended it to me, so I went ahead and downloaded it. I found it rather confusing, and it wasn't as fast as I thought it would be. Another problem I have is that it always wants to use my login details, and even after clicking "Do Not Allow" it continues asking me. I prefer to stick with Safari and Opera.

Brick are you taking about Chrome the browser or the actual Chrome operating system? From your post I think you're talking about the browser and this is about the OS.

I was talking about Chrome the browser in that post. I later tried to post a response about the actual OS. It looks like it didn't go through however. Could a mod could delete it or move it to the Chrome browser thread if there is one?

Basically what I said in my later response was that I wouldn't be very willing to use it. Google has had several privacy issues in the past including one in which one of their employees was caught breaking into email accounts (they were friends of his) and reading their emails and chats. Flash storage is just as good in my opinion an I would be much more inclined to use it than anything like Chrome OS.

BrickMaster, if you are worried about Google's privacy issues, why not try Iron, or Chromium? Chromium is the base, but if I remember it still sends some data to Google. SWare Iron is a secure browser, as it sends no information to anyone, minus the minimum required to browse. It also awesomely lacks clientID which leaves your location safe away from webmasters.
