3 Chicago cops are found not guilty in alleged coverup around controversial Laquan McDonald shooting. The three police officers were accused of conspiring to cover up damning details of the 2014 shooting death of the black teen. Officer Jason Van Dyke, who fired 16 shots at McDonald, has been convicted of second-degree murder. Van Dyke faces up to 96 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday. Source 5v.

Chicago cop Jason Van Dyke sentenced to six years, nine months for the murder of Laquan McDonald. Van Dyke, a white police officer, was convicted of second-degree murder in the 2014 shooting death of the troubled black teen that sparked protests in Chicago and beyond.
