Green In History
Has anyone in the History Books ever talked about a "Going Green"?
That good sir is a yes by todays standard of what green means. Composting has been done for a long long time by many in cities.
I do not recall any politician using the plat form of "Green" though to run for political office.
In the town of Meaford the town council made many industries clean up their act back in the 40's as they would dump all waste into the creeks and it was very pretty many different colors on different days. Raw sewage was also undertook about the same tame and holding tanks put in place of straight pipe into the bay.
But in general I do not think the environmental issue of pollution started in full earnest till the 60's(limited) and start becoming main stream in the 80's.

You can look to the past and see that the logging industry had to start replanting the trees that they cut down. This has helped persevere a lot of our natural forest areas and not having a barren land devoid of trees. We have learned from the past and now seek to keep trees around to provide the needed oxygen they give to us.
