Some teen boys were murdered some days ago execution style because they crossed a gang borderline. The public outcry has been big but will it be like most things in this country: forgotten in days to come?

Comments: This incident although it has shocked many citizens it will soon be forgotten. Since our independence citizens have gradually become immune to violent crimes on this island. For reasons unknown the police were not able and still can't get the upper hand where local crime is concerned. There could be only two reasons for this, one the police are not trained properly to detect and deal with serious crimes, two the manpower of the police force was and still is inadequate. The solution of inadequate manpower could be resolved by the stroke of a pen. The government could disband our military defence force. This force is dormant and is just a waste of public money. It is too small to be of any use if we are attacked by any of our neighbouring countries which is however highly unlikely. We would have to rely on military intervention by the USA or UK with or without a home military contingency. The men from this force could be divided equally between the police and the coastguards thereby strengthening the police manpower and with proper training creating a more effective police force. With such a bigger police force the police will soon gain the upper hand as they would be able to catch many of those violent killers on the loose thus preventing many of citizens being slaughtered randomly It would also boost the confidence of most citizens who are at present living in fear.
