Swine Flu In Trinidad
We are seeing the flu is spreading quickly to various countries now and they're taking the necessary precautions although it is quite difficult to stop the spread. How are you preparing for a possible outbreak of the flu in Trinidad? Would you wear the masks to protect yourself?
According to the Minister of Health:
QUOTE "The Ministry of Health has in stock 120,000 doses of Oseltamivir, commonly known as Tamiflu, used to treat swine flu in humans... I have held discussions with PAHO/ WHO and if there is any emergency they will deploy additional doses..."

Let's hope this lady did not die from this flu since local pharmacies do not have Tamiflu (the drug to treat this illness), and the test needed to confirm whether a victim has contracted the swine flu, is not yet available.

Ministry hogwash over swine flu
Last night while I was eating, I had the pleasure of listening to the Minister of Health deliver his take on the development of the swine flu and how it may affect this country. I am lucky I was at the end of my meal as I felt a churning in my stomach, much like a symptom of the flu, when I heard the minister speak. Ref. Source 4
