'Mexico will pay for the wall': Same old Trump immigration platform
Trump on Tuesday atomized any notion he is softening his hard-line immigration positions, rejecting a move to the middle that might make his presidential candidacy more appealing to Latino and moderate white voters. Ref. Source 7s.
Mexico: New plan to help citizens in US after Trump win:
The news comes as Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador agreed to join forces and seek support from Mexico to forge a joint strategy in response to Trump, El Salvador's foreign minister told Reuters on Wednesday. Ref. Source 1a.
He is going to get congress to agree that our taxes should go towards building this wall that won't keep them out and then he is going to ask the Mexicans to pay for it through some kind of visitor tax? Mexican goods tax? He may not like Mexico much but unless he wants what is going on in the Philippines then he should be their friend.

President Donald Trump will take executive action Wednesday directing federal resources toward building a border wall, a White House official confirmed to CNN.
The move begins a multi-day roll out of immigration actions that's also expected to include moves related to refugees and visas. Trump will make the announcement during a visit to the Department of Homeland Security at 1:25 p.m. ET.
Trump himself hinted at Wednesday's move on Twitter, writing "Big day planned on NATIONAL SECURITY tomorrow. Among many other things, we will build the wall!" Ref. CNN.
This has to be one of the stupidest things that Trump is planning to do. First is his gagging of scientist, but this is right up there. The biggest problem is that building a wall won't change anything, it is just a show move made to look powerful, but accomplishes nothing in the long run. Second is that right now there is a larger outflux of immigrants than influx (This has been going on longer than just Trump's campaign), but foreigners are now more scared than ever to be in America. Well, he campaigned on it and now he is doing it. I think this is for his base.
I'm not sure why the opinion here is seems to be that a wall won't accomplish anything. It'll certainly slow the tide down. I don't agree with deporting anyone here who hasn't committed a crime. Well, who hasn't committed a crime other than breaking our immigration laws. I do agree with securing our borders. Allowing people to come willy nilly into the US is a dangerous policy. It is a country's inherent right to secure its border.
Our current system may not be 100% effective at stopping illegal immigrants, but there is no reason to believe that building a bigger wall is going to change anything. People already dig tunnels and bribe guards to get across, what makes putting up a bigger wall any more effective? Unless you are going to be supplying more manpower and better surveillance (That is monitored well), then you are just wasting money building a bigger wall.

Like they say. You make a 20 foot wall and a 21 foot ladder will take you across it. Plus tunneling is a big practice already.
