Boy Scout Trenton Taylor

The search for a Boy Scout missing since Tuesday afternoon actually ended Wednesday, but word of the boy being found safe wasn't relayed to authorities until this morning because of a lack of cell phone coverage in the area where he was found. Taylor, from Roosevelt, was hiking with his scout group Tuesday near Kidney Lake in the high Uintas. Ahead of the boys who were walking were several group leaders on horseback carrying camping supplies. Taylor and his father told the Deseret News Thursday morning that the boy ran ahead of the other hikers to try and catch up with the horses.

I have spent a lot of time in the Uintahs and they are beautiful. When you get up on top you can see forever and a lot looks the same so perhaps an inexperienced person could get disoriented and lost. A lot of logging roads and hidden valleys. But if you were smart you could find some help without too much effort. Every year it seems a scout goes missing. The answer appears to be that the scouts need to listen to their leaders and follow the rules.
