I just saw an ad for the Craftsman Compu Curve and was impressed. Basically it is a computer / cutting saw that can read data on shapes and designs and then cut it for you! I could have a lot of fun with something like this if I had my own home. If you have used it please place a review here.

This could make cabinet building or furniture making a lot easier for armatures like me. I ponder could it take stock and make a long bow laugh.gif.

My only concern on something like this is the bit that is needed for it. The different designs would have to have the need of smaller or larger bits to make the cuts. I know doing freehand takes a lot of practice so this would save a lot of time.

Your concern is the amount of bits you will need to change or the durability of the bits to last through the punishment?

Bit durability should not be an issue as industrial bits have been perfected for many years now. As long as you do not try to drive it too deep to fast. I would think like a drafting printer one could have multiple tips and it would grab then as required as long as you put the right on in the right spot. Many commercial machines do this.

If not not a big deal you make one cut change tip then do the next round till done.
