Twilah the Good

Twilah is a 5.5 half elf. Her mother was a human herbalist and her dad was a elf warrior/ranger. So because of these backgrounds she has learned much about plants, trees, animals, and nature. She can make snares and simple traps for fowl and rabbits and other small animals. She can also fish. She can cook most meats and make soups and stews and herbed vegetables. She has learned how to garden both food and herbs and can collect many types of nuts, mushrooms, plants, roots and flowers knowing what is poisonous and what is not. She has learned to make simple salves and teas to help with many ailments.

She has the beauty of her mother and slender grace of a dancer. From her father she has learned to be bold and courageous. She has slightly above average strength from learning to pull a bow like her father taught her. She is polite, kind and generous.

Though, she knows not much of the outside world, like currency, religion or politics. She can read basic common language but never learned to write it. She is naive and trusting, trusting a little too soon. She has never been to another town or city so she is not aware how others live in other places.

She can handle some animals like chickens or sheep but not horses or cows. She never learned to ride a horse due to lack of money for the family to own a horse. She is nervous of horses and cows because they are so big.

Twilah is 17 going on 18 with long flowing black hair down to the middle of her back. She has blue grey eyes that are almost silver in some light. She is pretty but not beautiful. Twilah has a slender build going to an athletic build. She is somewhat tanned for spending most of her time in the outdoors.

Her father in his younger years had been a bit of a rogue and had taught Twilah to pick simple locks and be a bit more stealthy than most. But she is far from top notch at this.

Combat wise she knows basic dirty fighting hand to hand and can use a dagger and a short bow and is slightly proficient in all three fighting styles. She knows enough to discourage small squabbles and thief's from thinking she's easy pray. So she is is not as vulnerable as most people would be but not good or an expert either.

Caleb was a friend of my family. When my dad was away at war he would help with chores that needed a bit more mussel, like chopping wood for us in the winter or fixing fences. Between wars I didn't see that much of him and the last time I saw him was 3 years ago. Caleb is tall and muscular with short medium brown hair, sexy eyes and good looks. He is 2 years older than me which makes him 19 now.

I was not expecting to ever see him again but there he was coming to see me at the tavern. He told me he had heard I left home after both my parents died and went looking for me to see if I was alright. It' was really good to see him again. I always had enjoyed sparing with him or hunting with him. Plus we loved to flirt.

So he was here as a promise to my parents to look after me once I left home, and he is keeping his promise. At first I was annoyed because I thought that he or my parents hadn't trusted me in leading my own life. Caleb then explained that my parents trusted me fine but they didn't want me to be totally alone and lonely. He said they secretly hoped we would marry in the near future. That was news to me but they did always encourage us to hang out with each other.

He taught me what real friendship is and that I could trust and rely on him for help. And here it was almost 2 months after my mom's passing and he's right here.

We chatted for a while and had herd that I was a reliable but new trapper. He was also a hunter and trapper and fisher. He was better than me and I could still learn from him. He's quite stealthy and he had told me once he was going to teach me about hunting dear. He's also good in a fight and can do use a long sword quite well. He also was proficient with a a short and long bow. So there was still much I could learn from him. Plus after the death of both my parents now I needed someone to talk to and cry on. I've just kind of done the "don't cry" and "Suck it up Buttercup" to not fall apart. I realized that I could breath easier with him around and it was good to have him around as back up.

I think he does want to marry me but neither of us are in a hurry. I think he also want's me to improve my skills as a fighter, hunter, fisher and trapper. He wants me to be safe and have pride in myself. Besides he's fun to flirt with which keeps up a happy banter in this new time in my life.
