According to CNN and other news sources, The Department of Homeland Security announced it has suspended all actions to implement the immigration order and will resume standard inspections of travelers as it did prior to the signing of the travel ban. Source 2e
Of course, Mr. Trump was not silent about the issue and twitted:

I see this going rather quickly to the Supreme Court. Here's the thing, if it goes now there a pretty good chance of a four to four tie and the opinion of the lower court stands. If they wait for Judge Gorsuch to be appointed they have a chance of overturning this. The issue being the "Conservative" side has one Justice that sometimes sides with the liberals. The liberals almost never switch. And it's the Democrats who scream about out of the mainstream and it's them who appoint the judges that lean the most to one side.

What Abnninja described is exactly what Trump is hoping for with his own pick making the deciding vote. Were this to stand it means Trump, with a flip of a coin, could decide any country cannot come into the USA and a whole bunch of people get turned upside down for no reason.

Good points. Besides all of this, he either has lousy advisers or he isn't listening to anyone. I cannot believe that he thought he could pull this off easily without any judging trying to stop it. It is making him look even worse.

Actually, I think he knew this would be contested and he's testing his power. I say that because Title 8 of the US Code gives the president the authority to use a proclamation to suspend the entry of
QUOTE “any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States who would be detrimental to the interests of the United State… "
Here is the rub, this has never been contested in court. There is a very good chance he could win this.

The Justice Department has appealed a decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that stopped enforcement of President Donald Trump's executive order banning travel to the United States from seven Muslim-majority countries and suspending refugee entry to the US.
Friday night, federal Judge James Robart, a George W. Bush appointee who presides in Seattle, halted the enforcement of Trump's order, effective nationwide. Ref. CNN.
