Kai first met Toccata in her house when they were both kids, where their parents knew each other as friends. It was awkward at first till Toccata brought out her own toy; instruments of magic and cards. She attended the party which Kai's mother died the day after, and since then has been with Kai. Kai has little memory of Toccata and does not yet fully trust her, despite being attracted by her charm and feminine behavior. He also believes that she knows something about his family and is secretly hiding it from him. Toccata often persuades Kai not to venture into the dungeons for the numerous dangers and unknown creatures which dwell within. He does not take her suggestions much into consideration. Kai rejects her offer of gold and instead wishes to strike out on his own. As a carefree person, Kai wishes for adventure and thrill.
