"Interesting. I do not recall being told we would be receiving, let alone asking, for backup… " Sar'ai whispers to Onwen. She then messages Poljen, who then hears in his mind, "It would appear we have some company approaching from our rear. Did you request additional men?"
The half-drow then leans back into the doorway to conceal her body from those coming down the tunnel. She awaits Poljen's reply.
Poljen stops suddenly at the intruding message from Sar'ai. This is the second time this day someone has sent him a message this way, and it is still unnerving. He says out loud, but softly so Cahleth and Lia can hear him. "Sar'ai says more people are coming down the tunnel from the direction of the fort. Did Sir Onthar say he would send more? I don't recall anything like that." As he speaks, he tries to think it as well in Sar'ai's direction. Recalling what he knew of the rooms where they had left Onwen and Sar'ai he adds, "Can you hide until you can see them better?"
Lia stops suddenly at this. " This could very well be trouble. Maybe this is some inside help to allow the enemy in through here. We already found one nest of traitors. Doesn't mean there aren't more. It is very troubling. Should we go back to help just in case?"
Lia nods at the other two. " That's a great plan. They will hear you and see you with the torch. You two can help deal with it. I will forge on ahead. We don't have the time for a delay. When you get it resolved you know where to find me. " You can almost hear a fervor in her voice. She smiles wryly. Lia advances quickly with sword and shield readied.

Lia continues on, The path seems to be clear enough as it winds its way past the lake. Soon enough, she can see where the path continues as the cave narrows into another tunnel.

Cratol and Nyzahr advance cautiously. More webbing appears on the walls and ceiling.
To their right, and up a sheer climb, is a hole in the cave wall that obviously serves as a giant spider nest. Webbing is everywhere, and the wrapped up remains of a small humanoid hangs nearby.
Moving on instinct, Cratol barely ducks in time to avoid a large ball of gooey webbing that is flung in his direction from above and behind. It splatters on the cave floor ahead of him.

As Sar'ai and Onwen make themselves scarce, the figures in the distance resolve themselves into three halflings in light combat gear and three large dogs with saddles. Tallis, the militia captain, appears to be the one leading them. They're making no effort to conceal their approach, instead moving with a fair amount of haste.
[Webbing is currently making 2 squares near Cratol difficult terrain, but enough space to simply step around is easily available. Still not sure where everyone went, just allocate yourselves appropriately. Any of the three groups can at this point in time hear loud shouting from the other groups, but probably won't hear anything less than that.]

Cratol will look for the spider. He will also look for some lose rocks to throw at it if it is too high to reach. HE will side step and sticky spots. He does not like spiders that may harm innocents and seeing bodies hanging that is not good. He will use his 40' movement rate to avoid getting hit by webbing. Plus his dexterity.
Cahleth calls out upon recognizing Tallis, "Hail and well met. We did not expect your company. Tell me, is everything well up top? What brings you down to here to us?"
His voice carries much more concern than suspicion.
