As more people move to shift the large timber, Tallis jogs up to the rear door, after Lia speaks up, she starts alternating between banging on it and using her hands as a funnel as she calls through the door. "Father Nighthill? Sisters? Its Tallis, we have a way out of here for you, please unbar the door."
With the combined efforts of several, the timber is lifted and moved easily enough, and you can hear a quavering voice on the other side saying "H-hello?"

Meanwhile, Fay is forced to admit to himself that he has seen better days. He has been trapped in this town for weeks, after what was supposed to be a brief stopover along the Uldoon trail to other places. With anyone who left abruptly vanishing, it very quickly became clear staying put was the wiser course.
It was a pleasant enough place to stay for a time, good people, good food, and plenty of crowds to appreciate his talents. But as time went on, the feeling of the town being under siege grew more and more palpable.
And then, just this morning, that siege became an all too present reality. Fay and many others awoke to alarm bells announcing the presence of an army at the gates. Faster than anyone could believe, the outer curtain wall fell, well before everyone had retreated to the relative safety of the fort at the center of the town.
The base of the ramp to the fort having been occupied by hostile forces, hundreds townsfolk were forced to seek shelter wherever they could find it. The local temple, a graceful stone structure mainly dedicated to the grain goddess Chauntea, was the obvious choice for many. And thus it was that Fay found himself inside that building, helping others brace the front door against beings incessantly battering away at it with a ram. The rector and the priests with him have been trying to keep people calm, but with little success.
[Yay for new people, our roster is now full. Is the group doing anything with the two unconscious kobolds?]
Fay sees that the temple staff have the door and hears murmurs of fear behind him. He turns to see outright fear on the faces of the townsfolk. He smiles to himself as he remembers his sister, Shanaria, once telling him, "Without fear there be no bravery." This was in response to a time when Fay was getting ready to attempt some crazy stunt and she was asking if he was afraid… to which Fay answered what is fear in his quavering nine year old voice.
Fay takes out his lyre, strides a few steps into the fearful crowd, and starts to play lightly as background noise. He tells a tale of normal folk undergoing fearful conditions, but facing their fears bravely. His music builds slightly but it's his voice that's louder still, imploring the citizens of this town to be brave. Trying to persuade them that even though things looked dark they would improve. He believed this as his luck hadn't failed him yet.
As Tallis and Lia try to persuade the people inside to open the door, Poljen looks at Targul, then glances meaningfully at the sleeping kobolds. He strides over and once more unsheathes his blade. He proceeds to kill a kobold.
Out of Character: : If it moves things along, have him kill the second as well. And if the door opens, Poljen will quickly ask two questions. "Do you have enough able bodies to move the wounded? What can you tell us about the forces battering the front? Numbers? Composition?
Cahleth will use a cloth and his hand to cover the mouth of a kobold, muffling any noise it may make, while Poljen executes one, then the other.
Once inside the building he will check with those who look most worn and weary, consoling their fears and providing encouragement.
Seeing the situation at hand, Targul says, "One time, when the crew I was with was" he pauses for a moment and looks around. Then continues by saying, "Getting supplies, we were set upon by… thieves who wanted to take our stuff from our warehouse that we were storing it in."
Targul pauses once again as the features on his face twist and turn as he tries to figure out how best to say whatever it is he's trying to say.
Eventually, he continues with "What I'm trying to say is, why don't we sneak everybody out of this back door and re-seal it? Then, when the group in front of the building breaks in, we can sneak round behind them, close the front door back up, and burn the building down around them."
Looking at Poljen he says, "I know that's not a direct confrontation, but I'm thinking it will give us a better chance at defeating a group of enemies more bigger than our group."
Poljen blinks a few times at Targul suggestion. He is about to speak when Cahleth replies first. He finally says, "I agree that it might be the most sensible way to finish them off. But, how do I put this? It is not… glorious. There is no valor. I would prefer we leave a few of us inside, laying in ambush, with the rest ready to run around and attack them as they get inside. Classic! We catch them between us and leave the chapel standing. I doubt the good people of Greenest want to see their temple burned if at all possible." He pauses then shrugs. "But let us learn what sort of force is arrayed against us before we decide."
Cratol walks along on the pathway that leads back outside hopefully close to the temple. He is pondering on the creatures he saw down there especially the large sleeping creature that he feels may need to be killed. It seem that maybe that creature has dwindled the numbers of the frog like creatures whom he feels can be friendly if they were not soo shy.
